Tannen3__2__slide_show An optometric physician for over 25 years, Dr. Tannen’s career has been devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of children with vision problems that impact academic performance. Dr. Tannen is a passionate doctor who cares deeply about the children he examines and treats. He and his wife Sandi have two children, Rachael and Noah.


Dr. Tannen graduated with clinical honors from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Tannen is an Associate Clinical Professor of Optometry at the SUNY/State College of Optometry in New York where he teaches vision therapy and is also the Director of the Eye Movement and Biofeedback Clinic. 


 In 2002, he was the recipient of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physician’s Scientific Achievement Award. Dr. Tannen lectures nationally and internationally on learning related vision disorders, strabismus, amblyopia, and vision therapy.


He has co-authored a clinical textbook as well as published numerous papers. He served as an officer in the United States Public Health Service for three years before cofounding EyeCare Professionals, P.C., with Dr. Despotidis.
